Great Turn Out for Atlantic City Restaurant Week

Dining in the area got a real boost with Atlantic City's Restaurant Week. You could see the list of restaurants and read the menus online so you could plan ahead and make reservations. For $33.11 we got Appetizer, Main course and Dessert. This year we enjoyed Manna, Buddakan & Dock's Oyster House.

Family Time in the Poconos

The Split Rock Lodge is located in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. It opened in 1941 as a year round resort. The Lodge was sold in July of 1967 and Treadway operated Split Rock until a fire destroyed a portion of The Lodge in 1970 according to their website

"Pocono Recreation, Inc. constructed 50 rooms at the Lodge and operated the property though out the 70′s. On April 2, 1981, the stock was purchased by Jack and Barbara Kalins and merged it into their company, Vacation Charters, Ltd. Since that time, The Lodge has been developed into a first class resort with more than $150 million invested on new facilities."

We had a fun weekend @ Split Rock Resort & Water Park. They have great water slides, wave pool, boogie board wave, & snack bar.

We stayed at the new Willowbrook Condos @ Split Rock. Each suite had a fireplace, Jacuzzi and full kitchen. In the summer they also offer boating, mini golf, tennis, golf and more.

Big Boulder ski resort is just down the road. The grandkids had ski lessons. The teachers were friendly and did an excellent job teaching the fundamentals of skiing.
