Bogus Nobel Peace Prize? PDF Print E-mail

Bogus Nobel Peace Prize?

Does President Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

President Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 2 weeks after he took office. What has he done?... Iran? North Korea? Afghanistan? Chech? Poland? Georgia? Israel?  Ask these citizens what is Obama doing for them? Ask the people of Iraq who has given them more peace President Bush or President Obama? Who supported the surge? Not Obama.

President Bush: "My country desires peace. We respect Islam, but we will protect our people from those who pervert Islam."

Let me remind you of how things are in Iraq today.

There are no longer mass graves.

Women are not being raped on government orders.

There is no more gassing on the Iraqi people.

Uday and Qusay are not torturing people.

Zarquawi is not beheading innocent Americans.

The UN Oil for Food Program that was funneling billions of dollars in kickbacks is no longer in existence.

12 Million people had Free Elections under a Constitution and a representative government.

Women vote and are able to run for office.

Saddam is no longer defying UN Resolutions.

The following was written in 2004 by Ray Reynolds, SFC Iowa Army National Guard

"I have met many, many people from Iraq who want us there.

Over 400,000 kids have had up-to-date immunizations.

School attendance is up 80% than before the war.

Over 1500 schools have been renovated.

Over 4.5 million people have clean drinking water for the first time ever in Iraq.

The country now receives 2 times the electrical power it did before the war.

100% of the hospitals are open compared to 35% before the war.

Elections are taking place in every major city.

Sewer and water lines are installed in every major city.

Over 400,000 people have telephones for the first time.

Girls are allowed to attend school.

Textbooks do not mention Saddam for the first time in 30 years."

I ask the Nobel Committee to consider all of this for next year....

We need jobs not additional taxes for health care

This is not the time to add taxes through the proposed health care bill...we need to put more money in the hands of consumers. We need jobs not health care for all....who pays for this? We will all be taxed.

As small business owners, plumbing and heating,  we will not be hiring anyone  new this year bc the winter is uncertain if we will have enough work to even keep our 3 men going...I hope we do not have to lay them off....

If we are given a value added tax we will have to pass that expense on to the consumers...less discretionary spending for them.

Please do not pass any current forms of health care. It is time to take a deep breath and get this right. If we fail, we will be hurting generations to come. We need reform but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

We are happy w our coverage. Of course, we would like to spend less. We want competition, tort reform to lower costs, if there is waste in Medicare let's go after that now.

Please stop these bills from going forward. We need stimulus not additional taxation to pay for universal single payer health care.

Two important people to contact on Heath Care in the Senate Finance Committee. Senator Olympia Snowe and Senator Blanche Lincoln.

What the "Obama Run Media" Isn't Telling You PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jennifer Palermo

What the "Obama Run Media" Isn't Telling You:

1. Coverage of ACORN
Have you seen the ACORN videos and coverage?

According to TheFoxNation.com

"The Senate voted to cut off ACORN Housing funds following the release of three videotapes that show employees of the activist group advising a "pimp" and "prostitute" on how to break the law." (cell phone video done by a 20 & 25 yr old)

An ACORN affiliate has just submitted applications for over $6 million in government funding, despite the controversial videos of the organization’s workers aiding a child prostitution "promoter."

Employees with the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) in Washington D.C., Baltimore and Brooklyn told uncover investigators posing as a pimp and a prostitute how they could circumvent the law. ACORN has already fired four of the workers. But it claims the tapes have been “doctored” and “edited.”

The Washington Examiner writes that they “found that ACORN has received at least $53 million in federal money since 1994.”

2. Did you know? Census fires ACORN USA Today: "The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with ACORN, a community organization that has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud."

3. Coverage of Van Jones: Glen Beck and FOX reported for a week about Van Jones ties to communism and socialism and controversial statements. Van Jones resigned under fire. Nothing was covered by the Obama controlled Media until he resigned. Are you comfortable with that?

According to Media Resource Center http://www.mrc.org/biasalert/2009/20090909031415.aspx

In an online Q&A, New York Times Managing Editor Jill Abramson admitted the paper's coverage of the Van Jones controversy was "a beat behind" and put the blame on Labor Day, not pro-Obama bias

But Abramson doesn't explain how the Times managed to avoid the burgeoning controversy until it was over, just as it did with earlier controversies involving other prominent Democrats.

4. Coverage of the 912 Tax Protest in  Washington, DC. How much coverage was on the TV this weekend? I flipped the channels and did not see any coverage but a full crowd shot of Pres Obama in Minnesota.

5. Coverage on 911. I was dismayed to watch NBC covering a tennis story and ABC was having a concert and not broadcasting the coverage of 911 Memorials on Friday. Was that respectful? How much time was devoted to reliving the events of 9/11/01?

Promises! Promises! Who believes Obama's plan will not raise the deficit? PDF Print E-mail

Promises! Promises! Who believes Obama's plan will not raise the deficit?

1. Promises! Promises!? President Obama said in his speech on Health Care, "The bill will not add one dime to the deficit." Who believes that? Rudy Giuliani said on FOX, "How are we going to pay for it? - The biggest question and the hole is that Obama says his plan will be deficit neutral, will not add a dime to the deficit. The Congressional Budget Office disagrees." Our deficit is already out of control with all the spending since Obama has taken office. How can you include 30 million more patients and it not cost more?

2. How can you have major cuts to Medicare without drastic rationing? The left has charged misinformation and charges of using the catch phrase "Death Panels." With too few doctors, if you are denied care or procedures because of your age, that is rationing.  One bill called for paying doctors to sit down with patients to discuss end of life decisions.  Americans fear these so called "death panels" similar to the end of life discussions in the VA manual.

3. Public option. Obama claims only 5 % will use the public option. Bogus- Giuliani said it will be far greater than 5 %. If your employer drops you because the fine is cheaper than the cost of coverage, you will have to go to the public option, which is government controlled.

4. Obama said, "The public option is only a means to that end and we should remain open to other ideas that accomplish our ultimate goals." What are their ultimate goals? a single payer, government run system-government run health care.

5. Did you know that the proposed plan will not take effect until 2013, but we will start paying for it in Jan. 2010? 4 months away!

 6. Comity? Senator Pelosi has compared the angry citizens at Townhall meetings to Nazis. Other words they were called, un American, a Mob. Obama said if you question the bill, "I will call out!" Obama charges "misinformation, scary stories, tall tales, bogus claims, partisan bickering, demagoguery & distortion." Obama charged others with lying and misinformation in his speech. Congressman Joe Wilson stood up to him and said "You lie," when Pres. Obama said illegals would not be covered. A little of the same medicine! I applaud Congressman Wilson - one small voice that went around the world. In 2005, the democrats booed Pres Bush when he spoke before Congress. Fair play if you ask me.

7. The plan calls for Penalties for those who don't get insurance. America stands for freedom, not coercion. We demand Congress sign up for the exact plan they are proposing we have.

8. Obama claims care for illegal immigrants is not included in the bill. That is a bogus claim, because they have already voted down an amendment that would require verification of citizenship. Illegals are already treated in our hospital emergency rooms dramatically driving up the cost of health care. We need immigration reform! If Obama grants amnesty, these millions will be included in the public option.

9. Include tort reform. Keep lawyers out of the examining rooms. Cap amounts to sue for medical malpractice. Frivolous law suits drive up costs, 1/4 of the practice of medicine is defensive- Gov. Tim Pawlenty said there is a proposal that each law suit must include an affidavit by another doctor saying that there are grounds for a lawsuit. Obama wants to test tort reform. Let's see what Congress does and hold them accountable

What We Want

1. Keep health care costs down.

2. Keep government out of the health care business. Demand Congress sign up for the exact plan they are proposing we have.

3. Any bill must include tort reform.

4. We want Democrats & Republicans to work together on a bill. Why have Republicans been left out since April?

5. Health Insurance should be able to compete across state lines.

6. Don't deny care because of preexisting illness.

7. Include Portability if you lose your job.

8. Encourage savings accts for medical usage.

9. If there are ways to improve Medicare, $500 billion in waste? Do it now, even before a bill is not passed!

10. No Federal Funding for abortion. "No public plan is forbidden from covering abortion." The wording is confusing. What does that mean? It leaves open the option.

Congress does listen to the American people. Contact them today and express your views. They will listen or vote them out! And thank God, Congress spent money on the War on Terror to keep us safe. We have not been attacked since 911!

In Her Own Words- A Stay in a British Hospital

This is a story from a friend of mine, Valerie Hart, who broke her ankle while in England. Is this the kind of health care we are headed for when the government runs things? It is time to stand up and let our voices be heard. We should not include illegals in any reform of health care.  We want competition, not a govt run single payer takeover. This is a coup trying to take over our country.

Her story:

[While visiting England several years ago, I fell and broke my ankle. I want to tell you about the nightmare week-long stay I had in one of "England's finest trauma centers."

We had 4 patients to a room with the only unisex bathroom down the hall.  One of my roomates was a lady who had fallen 4 weeks earlier and broken her pelvis.  She was waiting until a surgeon could get to her.  Her pelvis would have to be rebroken since so much time had elapsed and it had set.  Another roommate was a 98-year-old woman who had no place to live because her daughter was her caretaker.  The daughter had had a bad reaction to anesthesia which had been administered incorrectly.  She was now mentally ill.  So the hospital was caring for the 98-year-old woman in addition to her deranged daughter.

Patients brought their own toiletries--no sterile, disposable items for them!  When I told them of our US procedures, they were amazed and stated it was just like a first class hotel!  Patients also brought their own pillow cases, washcloths, and towels.   The hospital was severely understaffed, the equipment was old, and the general atmosphere was outdated and depressing.

Since I only had a broken ankle which was casted from my toes to my hip, I requested a wheel chair so my husband could take me out.  Unfortunately, it was Easter and a "bank holiday," and the wheelchairs were all locked up.  The woman with the key was on holiday, and no one else had a key.  As you can imagine, I cried for joy when I returned home to the US, saw my doctor, and was admitted immediately for surgery.

Is this what we can look forward to? How can our legislators even begin to consider a federally run health care program?  Have they all lost their minds?  The eroding of our society and government begins with socialized medicine, and will soon encompass all aspects of our lives.  I fear for all of us, but especially the elderly.  The American people have a long history of fighting for their freedom from all sorts of tyranny here and abroad.  This ill-conceived plan must not be allowed to come to fruition.   We MUST fight this tyranny just as hard as we have ever fought before.  Our fathers and their fathers before them didn't fight so that democracy could be removed so carelessly by men and women who haven't even read the details of this evil bill.]

Sincerely,
Valerie S. Hart
Aiken, South Carolina
