Basilico's Ristorante in Sea Isle - Fabulous Authentic Italian Food

Great food will get you to return again and again to a restaurant and that's how it is at Basilico's. We go there as often as we can and enjoy bringing along friends. They have a great menu of authentic "Red Sauce" Italian food along with great white sauce items as well. You will also enjoy fabulous fresh seafood dishes with wonderful flavors. Check out their specials too. Always creative!

For starters they have a delicious antipasto full of fresh Italian meats and cheeses.

Other appetizers we love are the bang bang shrimp and the incredible meatballs with ricotta.

You will be served fresh bread with a tasty oil, garlic, balsamic dipping sauce. Then comes the complimentary house salad with a very tasty homemade dressing. Watch out or you will be full already!

Let's start the entrees by saying you may get the best lasagna with red meat sauce ever! They also have a seafood lasagna (crab & spinach & white sauce) I love!...get that too!

We highly recommend the chicken parm, veal parm & eggplant parm served with pasta. Fettucine alfredo with mushrooms, chicken & peas is another great dish! The menu has a great selection including pizza and a kids menu. The friendly servers can help you with any questions.

Basilico's is a short drive south of Ocean City via the 59th St.Bridge or the Parkway south.

Sketties: For the Entire Family- Affordable! Fantastic!

There's a new restaurant in town...same owners and a real treat for those who love Italian food...and the best part, it is affordable and the food is fabulous. It's right over the 34th Street bridge from Ocean City.

We started our meal with complementary Italian bread and olive oil and something new for us- Burratta for 2 for an appetizer of Fresh mozzarella with roasted cherry tomatoes and pesto served with crackers. Delicious! $12

The Italian wedge salad was iceberg lettuce with pancetta, pears, gorgonzola served with ranch dressing. A great blend of flavors! $5

The House salad included antipasto, cherry tomatoes and olives with balsamic dressing. $4

The lasagna was a sheer delight filled with creamy, ricotta and mozzarella and a delicious meat sauce. $14 We enjoyed a side of well seasoned meatballs in their old world homemade tomato sauce with San Marzano tomatoes.(PS go just for the lasagna!)

The veal parmesan was tender and perfectly seasoned and breaded; just the way we like it. $17 (pictured top)

The new bar area in the back overlooks the meadows and bay with seating in raised stools. Check out their extensive wine list and cocktails. The dining area and booths have a nice bright ambiance for a romantic dinner or family style dining.

You'll have to check out the dessert menu. We overheard those next to us mention the Tira mi su and sorbet.

They also have a great kids menu for children 10 and younger. Chicken tenders $8, Pasta with meatballs or sausage $7, Pizza for $6, ravioli and meatballs for $8...and Free dessert for the kids!

Other menu items for our next trip will be - Antipasti for 2 for $12. Skettie and meatballs $12 Eggplant Parm $13 other entrees- shrimp scampi with linguine $16, crab & sketties$18, salmon with butter sauce $15, crab cake $15 both served with pasta .

OB Crabs is still open with seafood and u pick crabs! As well as Yesterday's across the street.

That's Italian! Andrea Trattoria in Sea Isle

Andrea Trattoria in Sea Isle offers a fantastic menu in a cozy corner along the Fish Alley section of Sea Isle not far from the bridge. The quaint trattoria offers delicious Italian cuisine prepared to accomodate a low sodium diet. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Our meal started with incredible fried oysters with a tasty sauce. Next fresh bread, olive oil and antipasto were enjoyed with a nice glass of wine. BYOB

The Italian food options include fresh pasta and risotto of the day, fish, veal, chicken and daily specials. Everyone was pleased with their choices.

Linguini with crab, tomato & garlic

Bronzino filleted at the table.

Veal Parmigiana

top: Risotto with shrimp, clams, & crab

Dessert topped off the meal with Tira Misu

and Molton Lava Cake.

We found this restaurant by googling restaurants with low sodium diets for a family member. We have been very pleased to find a place that understands how high sodium food is not always the best choice.

BYOB Call for their winter hours. 263-5001
